Privacy Policy — North Star Letters

North Star Letters (“we,” “us,” or the “app”) helps you answer guided prompts and turn your answers into a printed keepsake book. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and who it is shared with.

Information we collect

The content you write — the prompts you answer (your stories and the lessons you add), along with your book’s title, subtitle, and dedication. This is the heart of your book.
Your name, as the book’s author.
Order and shipping information, only when you order a printed book: recipient name, shipping address, phone number, and email address.
Payment information — when you pay for a printed book, your card details are entered into and processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not receive or store your full card number.

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers. The app does not show ads and does not sell your personal information.

How your information is stored and used

Your answers are saved on your device so you can return to your book anytime.
When you build, order, or sync your book, your book content and (for orders) your shipping details are sent to our backend service to create your print-ready files and place your print order.
We use your information solely to provide the app’s features: saving your work, creating your book’s PDF, processing your payment, and printing and shipping your order.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers that make the app work, and only as needed:

Xano — our backend and database provider, which stores your book content and order records.
Cloudflare R2 — secure file storage that holds your print-ready PDF so it can be sent to the printer.
Lulu — our print-on-demand partner, which prints and ships your book. We share your book files and shipping address with Lulu to fulfill your order.
Stripe — our payment processor, which handles your card payment.

Each provider processes your information under its own privacy and security practices. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

Data retention

We keep your book content and order records for as long as needed to provide the service and fulfill your orders. You can ask us to delete your information (see Contact below). Content saved on your device remains until you delete the app or clear its data.

Children’s privacy

North Star Letters is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

You can edit or clear the content saved on your device at any time within the app.
You can contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the information we hold about you.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
